I’ve been dreaming of inhabiting a brick and mortar creative space since I was in graduate school. Ideally, I’d share the space with a team of other creatives, feeding off the collective energy of the room. I’m not quite there yet but I’m excited to announce that I’m on my way. This April, I’ll be popping up at the Studio at Labor in Vain in Ipswich. The space is a blank slate with white walls, a black floor and wonderful natural light. I’ll be keeping it that way with the addition of sparse greenery, some interesting seating and the construction of a moveable wall which will house a few different backdrop options. I’m excited to offer a series of Capsule sessions for creators and mothers in the North Shore area. Are you based in Boston and interested in a session? Ipswich is surrounded by good coffee (Little Wolf), amazing food (Sandpiper Bakery) and the most beautiful coast on earth (Crane Beach)—make a day of it!
I have SO many ideas for this space but I’m trying to keep things simple this go around so that the photography can take center stage rather than the outfitting of the space. A month flies by in normal times but I’m also a mother to a 6 month old and a toddler who are mostly home with me — I’m keeping that top of mind this time around. Doing this is important to me because I want to show my children that their mothers dreams can still come to life. Yes, they may need to be adjusted and contained in ways they typically would not but as long as I keep moving forward, I am fulfilled.
Can’t wait to see you in studio!
